Gaineswood is a unique vertical neighborhood composed of two six-story residential towers, nestled on over six forested acres just off NW 23rd Avenue, west of 13th Street in Gainesville, Florida. Built in the early 1970s, Gaineswood was originally developed as luxury condominiums for nearby University of Florida professors by Alfred Ring, a professor, philanthropist, and the community's original developer. The architectural design was led by Russell Melton Associates, a Miami-based firm known for its distinctive mid-century modern work.

The community directly adjoins the City-owned Alfred A. Ring Park, which follows the path of Hogtown Creek between NW 23rd Avenue and NW 16th Avenue. The park features wooded trails and a peaceful natural setting, including the Glen Springs tributary near its northern end.
